Facial Aesthetics
Why is Face Lift Surgery performed?
The main areas that reveal a person's age are the face, neck and back of the hands. As age increases, there is loss of fat tissue in the facial area, changes in location due to gravity, sagging, and wrinkles on the skin due to the effect of the sun. These effects begin to become more evident, especially after the thirties. With face lift surgery, the changes that occur during aging are reversed by intervening on the whole or a certain part of the face.
After facelift surgery, your face looks younger, but the aging process continues by 5-10 years. In other words, it is definitely not a procedure that stops the aging process. How young you will look after plastic surgery depends on you and the extent of the surgery. The patient's skin structure, genetic characteristics, bone structure and habits are important in making the result personal and it is impossible to obtain a standard result. In this context, facial aesthetics is of great importance.
HOW IS FACE LIFT AESTHETICS SURGERY PERFORMED?
Face lift surgery is a surgery performed under general anesthesia. The incisions to be used in face lift surgery also vary depending on the desired aesthetic appearance. In traditional face lift operations, incisions are made starting from the hairline and extending to the back of the ear and neck. Thus, in the face lift method, the face is completely lifted.
In plastic surgery, incisions surrounding the bottom of the ear are made with limited incisions made by the plastic surgeon. With this intervention, wrinkles in the cheek area are eliminated. For neck lift surgeries, incisions are made extending from the earlobe to the neck. After facelift surgery, wrinkles on the face are eliminated and a new, youthful appearance is achieved. It takes approximately three or four hours. Excessive bleeding is not expected during and after the surgery. In rare cases where there is a risk of bleeding, drains are placed for safety purposes. The patient is stayed in the hospital for a day, the drains are removed and he is discharged.
